Charlie
Smith was born in 1966 in Columbus, Ohio. He has a Bachelors Degree
in Fine Art from the Atlanta College of Art (1992). He worked with
other artists and craftsmen until He founded The Facility Inc. in
(1997). The Facility inc. was a sculpture and art furniture business
located in Atlanta, Georgia. The Facility has now evolved into a
Vision of “Artistically Grounded” and is a successful
art studio tailored to specialty and one of a kind creation of both
functional and artistically driven themes.
Charlie specializes in working
with a variety of metals and woods. His furniture & sculptural
works are made from such materials as Mild steel, Stainless steel,
Copper, Aluminum, Birch, Maple, Mahogany, and other rare woods.
He has a tuned eye for detail and is a meticulous Artist and
craftsman.
Charlie works singularly as
well as on a one to one basis with his clients and other artists
in Atlanta and around the country. Charlie has a background in
fine arts and crafts as well as trade shows, commercial & home
construction and video & movie production. He works with
architects and designers to realize their visions as well as
opening his studio to visiting artists to create individual and
collaborative visions.
Charlie is a unique individual
that has an impeccable reputation for his timely production schedules,
communication skills, and delivering quality finished products.
It is this that has allowed his success as a self-employed Artisan
in the city of Atlanta Ga. and across the United States.
